Hmk- Read pages 268-271 and answer questions # 1-6, & 8 Today's lesson was on how to name acids and bases. There was a worksheet that we went through as a class and practice on naming acids and bases.
In today's class we worked on the discussion questions from the lab yesterday. You will need to hand in your data table and the discussions questions ONLY! This is due on Thursday.

Homework: Read pages 237-239 and answer questions #1-3 on page 239 Read pages 240-243 and answer questions #3, 4, 5 on page 243 **** Prepare data table for lab on Monday!!! Per. 2- Today we continued with Balancing Equations- we took up the worksheets from yesterday and completed questions #1-4 & 7 on page 236 and #7 on page 258. Quiz tomorrow on Balancing Equations!

Per. 5- Today we continued with Balancing Equations- we took up the worksheets from yesterday and completed questions #1-4 & 7 on page 236 and #7 on page 258. Quiz tomorrow on Balancing Equations! Today we took a note on the rules for balancing chemical equations. We did a few examples of taking word equations and turning them into balanced chemical equations.
Worksheet- practice balancing and writing skeleton equations. Complete for homework. As a follow up to our lab, we took a note on the Law of Conservation of Mass and reviewed how to count atoms. (worksheet)
Homework: Read pages 230-232 and answer questions #1a, 2, 4 & 6 Per. 2- Today we had our first chemistry lab (pages 228-229 in the text). The lab write up is due on Monday, March 19th, 2013. For the discussion section, answer questions a, b, d, e, g, h.
Per. 5- Today we demonstrated the Scientific Method using cards. We discussed the proper lab format and reviewed safety rules in preparation for our first lab. You need to have a data table ready for your lab tomorrow (p.228) |
