n-index of refraction
c-speed of light in a vacuum
v-speed of light in another medium
You need to be able to rearrange the equation to solve for c or v.
p. 525- Questions #1-10- we completed these in class and took them up on the board.

n= c/v
n-index of refraction c-speed of light in a vacuum v-speed of light in another medium You need to be able to rearrange the equation to solve for c or v. p. 525- Questions #1-10- we completed these in class and took them up on the board. Today we did a refraction lab... we investigated what happens to light rays that travel from air through plexi-glass. Each student needs to hand in their diagrams, questions #1-4 and complete a conclusion. This should be complete by the end of the period or due at the start of class tomorrow.
We used the imaging rules from yesterday to locate images in a concave mirror. We then described these images using the SALT characteristics.
Homework: Questions #1-7, 10 on page 501 *** I will check your homework tomorrow! Today we had a quiz and then we "Discovered" the Imaging Rules for Concave Mirrors by using the Ray boxes.
Hmk- Read pages 497-499 before tomorrow's class. Today we reviewed how to locate images in a plane mirror by using object-images lines.
Hmk.- Read pages 488-492 and answer question #1-7 on page 493. Quiz tomorrow! Study: Properties of light, electromagnetic spectrum, sources of light, Ray Diagrams, Laws of Reflection, Images in Plane Mirrors (SALT and Oject-Image lines) Today we took a note on Images in Plane Mirrors and describing these images using SALT.
Activity- p494- we completed this in groups and each group submitted one copy of the quest Today we took up yesterday's homework and activity. Note- Laws of Reflection
Hmk. Read pages 484-487 and answer questions #1-5 pg. 486 Today we took a note on the Ray Model of Light. We did the Activity: Reflecting Light off a Plane Mirror on pages 482-483 in text. In groups we analyzed the results, answering a)-f).
Hmk. Read pages 479-481 and answer questions #1-6 on page 481. Today we brainstormed ideas of different sources of light. We defined luminous vs. non-luminous and took a note on the 7 different types of light.
Seatwork- Read pages 470-476 and answer questions # 1-5, 7, 9 & 10. Try this page 467 using the ray boxes and prisms. |
